Michelle Pretto, soprano, is a first-generation American, born in New York City. Most recently she could be seen playing the role of Mimi (La Bohéme) with Amore Opera. In a monthly series of performances at Via Emilia in New York City, she performed the roles of Nedda (Pagliacci), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Violetta (La Traviata), Mimi (La Bohème), and the title roles in Madama Butterfly and Tosca. She most recently performed the role of Gilda from Rigoletto by Verdi and Mimi from La Bohème with Amore Opera in New York City. Through a collaboration with the Westchester Italian Community Center, she produced and performed in a series of concerts of arias and scenes in 2015 and 2016. In the summer of 2014, she performed the role of Lady Billows in MAI’s production of Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten in the foothills of the Dolomites in Mezzano, Italy. Before that she played the title role of Madama Butterfly in Amore Opera’s spring production of Madama Butterfly and performed the role of Countess in The Muses Foundation’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
